ENES ERKAN TWO-TIMES WORLD CHAMPION
Turkish karateka Enes Erkan won his second world championship title in the men'e kumite +84kg.
Turkish karateka Enes Erkan won his second world championship title in the men'e kumite +84kg on 8 November.
Erkan, the defending world champion from Paris in 2012 and the European Champion from Budapest in 2013 in individual categories, won 5-4 against Iran's Sajad Ganjzadeh. In earlier stages in the tournament, Erkan topled Estonia's Tanel Paabo, Albania's Herolind Nishevci, Morene Sheppard of the Netherlands and Spain's Vizuete Fernandez in the semi-final.
Separately, another Turkish karateka Gökhan Gündüz, won the bronze medal in the 84kg divisiın after winning 3-0 against Germany's Mehmet Bolat.
More than 1,000 athletes from 117 nations are competing in the 22nd World Senior Championships in Bremen, Germany.
